I often find it easier to plan the background first and then the drawing, at the very least set down your perspective lines of where things are gonna go.

Just plan it out the same you would a character sketch.

Hm, I've been trying to think around the background as i draw characters, but it's mostly often just characters and then i try to plan around that. That's why everything is so simple heh

Its better to plan out the background first then the characters as you could make the characters interact with the background and is also harder to plan perspective from a character than it is a background.

Hmm then the illustration would be mostly background focused. Since I've been mostly focused on characters, I find it more difficult to plan a background before them, It suddenly wouldn't fit the way I want to portray them.
I appreciate the input though, I'll give it a try 😊

Thank you! Clouds look 'easy" to draw or paint but, they are lies! Also, i really want to stick to using normal brushes, not "special" ones. So its a lot of experimentation
