IKR? Absolutely stunning. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I heard it's around the same time as bats taking off. And sometimes, the two parties can collide. Is that true?
Sky lanterns are made from paper-covered wire or a bamboo frame with a candle inside. The heat from the candle lifts the lantern into the air where it can float for miles. Once extinguished, the lantern falls back to the ground where it becomes hazardous to animals and the environment.
The lanterns obviously fall into the sea or on land depending on where the festival is. I've seen a couple of these festivals and they are spectacular, but definitely not good for the environment.
Besides the cosmic radiation, breathing on Mars really sucks!
We've got ONE planet (and it's a good one if we stop F'kin it up!)
Leon can go to Mars and report back, the rest of us should wait and see how that goes. Anyone thinking of moving to Mars should move to a desert, at least there's air.
Wow. Are they biodegradable or do they infest the land and water with metal parts? I used to love the idea of these lantern festivals until I learned how much they pollute. Looks pretty though.
They also release thousands of lanterns on New Years Eve… it’s an amazing thing to see, though sadly, the lanterns ultimately fall into the ocean and other places and just add to the pollution.
