During the housing crisis with all the empty homes, smoke alarms died and the birds copied the chirps. Took a few years for that to stop.

Even wilder, their murmuration of hundreds of their flock is based on the seemingly magical "rule of 7".
They fly by moving in concert with 7 of their nearest flock members. Not because they're only capable of that, it's much more efficient to manage.
