Very very worried that my sister will be tossed out of the Memory Care facility she has lived at for four years, now that the GOP regime cut Medicaid. Trying times? A nightmare.
People in nursing homes need the touch of animals so badly. I'd say most of them had pets, and the visiting animals fill some of the loneliness like no person can. No words need to be spoken.
My mom wasn't allowed to bring her cat to her assisted living facility, so I took care of him. I used to drive 7 hours one way to bring the cat to visit with her. 😥
He was gorgeous. I saw a girl walking her dog through my mom's nursing home one day. It was really amazing to see all the smiles and people reaching to touch the dog. He would go over to each person. 🥰
What a wonderful idea.I was lucky enough to grow up on a horse farm. Dad was a stableman for 40+ years.Horses are such loving, intuitive, and intelligent animals. W/ senses of humor too. Dad used to say they were just like big dogs.
I've often wondered if it's traumatic for the animals providing therapy being constantly exposed to ill and dying people as they can grieve also. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a wonderful program but is enough being done to console the animals?
Profoundly moving. Another reminder that the natural world and its voice-less yet very much alive inhabitants, hold all of the secrets of life, if we'd only pay attention.
Alright, my apologies, The way the video was shot and the strange expression on the horse owner's face made me question if the video was generated by AI.
Horses see us from the inside out. There was something about what the woman was feeling that drew the horse. I see connection & wonder on her face. I trust what my horses see & allow them to pick their therapy clients. They never make a mistake.
My therapy horse was Kaliko, and she was wonderful. Horses have some kind of super empathy, they can sense trauma and loneliness. Big brown eyes of love. Thank you for sharing! Wonderful!
It always amazes me to see such gentle giants can be so at peace with world immediately around them. There are very few animals in the kingdom where you get the chance to look so deep into their eyes and sense what they do.
