I caught him gently, set him on a leaf. He lay still for about 10 mins, I worried he'd died of a heart attack. Eventually, it arose and flew off. I cried.
Yea there are several hummingbirds that live in my garden. I've never touched one or tried to but I've seen them up close when they are observing me. The sound they make when they move is like this robotic ethereal sound. It's beautiful.

Several decades ago I found a hummingbird in my garage that was tangled up in spider webs. I carefully picked him up and wiped off the webs as best I could and let him loose outside.
I still remember his peeping as he flew off. It was a very moving moment for me.
Never, but when I’m working out in the yard, there’s always one little black hummingbird that follows me everywhere everywhere to see what I’m doing and he’s always chirping like he’s telling me to get out of his property

We have a feeder right outside our living room window. Watch them all summer and then suddenly one day they are gone, migrating to milder climates.
