Part of it is genetics, only one breed is able to do this gait. Kind of remarkable that someone took a weird quirk and selectively bred them to be the horse of silly walks
I just googled "soring", and the images were so cruel and painful-looking, I had to leave the site. The cruelty. The intentional infliction of pain on a defenseless animal is beyond my comprehension.
Generally speaking, the training of this breed is gentle and without abuse or cruelty. The gate you see is the result of the training and to me represents a true talent from both rider and horse.
I understand your view. But I believe their performance is just an exaggeration of their natural gait. When you watch a video of their performance, they are eager to get to the board to perform. The exaggeration is similar to dressage horses in extreme collection. Or Lippizaners & airs above ground
I always prefer a horse's natural state. But I don't think this cruel. Certainly not like Tennessee walkers with the chains and wooden blocks. There is a fine line here. And your pups are adorable.
