My family instituted a swear jar, every swear word cost the offender a quarter. The idea was to have some extra change for the ice cream man. Thanks to Dad us kids were all able to buy brand new 10 speed bikes at the end of the summer.

French is my source language, btw (waving from Québec City, Canada), and our swear words are mostly religious terms with a twist.
English, using body parts and functions as "swear words"...
