What a terrific piece! Thank you. And regarding application of the social model of disability - certainly made me think of, for eg, wealthy contemporaries who might mitigate some of the effects of a disability through employing additional staff, equipment etc

I’m continuing to mull over this - so thought provoking. Wasn’t the representation in the Robert Blincoe text v. melodramatic and well, lurid [if I’m remembering it properly??] I guess I’m not sure what to do with that in terms of framing such accounts through the lens of disability activism?
