Ladybird book in the spotlight. The Discontented Pony, 1951

Lots of us having Proustian moments with this one, me included. I’d forgotten all about this until now 😀

As a pony-mad small girl, this was my absolute favourite of my (very many!) Ladybird books!

Why was the pony discontented?

I had this. Whenever Pa read it to me, he called it the Disconnected pony. I think I still have it in my shelves.

I had forgotten this book but the picture has brought the memory of it flooding back. It was one of my favourites as a very young child. 🙂

Awww - my big sister’s favourite 🎠 the carousel scenes upset me…but I loved the illustrations 💜

I loved this book as a child. It was still in my parents house until a few years ago.
