Pretty sure I made some like this. You had to get tins like the ones Lyle’s Golden Syrup came in so that you could replace the top after you’d got your dad or some other adult to make holes in the sides.

Was it even a 60's childhood if on getting ready for bed you couldn't trace the rippled circle in the skin below your knees caused by industrial elastic used in those socks ?
