If they did this because of the shooting, then the vigilante just improved the quality of life of Americans and saved countless families from financial ruin

They obviously couldn't take the heat on them.
These things tend to get shareholders quite cagey and upset about their dirty little investments into such companies.
If we had socialized medicine, the shooting wouldn't have happened. Too many of our "Public Servants" depend upon health insurance industry $ to help finance their campaigns (and other perks) for them to ever allow government to provide proper health overage, like they have, for ALL Americans.
Always sad when someone is murdered, but if his death shines a long, hard light on an industry desperately needing one, then it wasn't totally in vain.
No. The correct conclusion is that the vigilante chose the side of the anaestheologist against the hospital. If you don't know why this is the conclusion, maybe you should read more before commenting on a story.
They did it because people like me were asking what insurance company the CEO and Board had as certainly they wouldn't have health care that didn't cover adequate care.
100% but their job is to maximize shareholder value… if they don’t do horrible sh*t they’re more likely to lose their jobs. I am guessing after the shooting they are now much more aware that their career choice can have very serious repercussions. And that’s a good thing imho
So I’m in Finance and yes, that is the goal, but we’re also supposed to be ethical in our business practices. One time I refused to do something the execs wanted & luckily they respected my decision. Maybe more people should do that & things might be different. I guess it depends where u work.
There is no ethical way for private insurance to work, no way for healthcare to function as a normal marketplace with conditions as they are, no way for Smith's invisible hand to even wave in the healthcare market. It is an artificial market w/out even having price transparency. An oligopoly.
I have a friend that works at a pharmacy and she said that all medications were approved yesterday. She also says that NEVER happens and it’s usually a hassle all day to get people their medication.
It was a fortunate coincidence in timing of news events, leading to lots of attention on this heartless policy. Absolutely seems the reversal is related.
We can't count on politicians to change anything. Politicians are in it for themselves. They go in as broke bartenders and become millionaires off of inside trading. The every people will have to fight and make the change. Violence will be needed...

Batman lied to us.
