Someone politely asking you to not do something due to a boundary is not a personal attack nor does it take away from you being a good person, nor should it take away from the person's rep with the boundary. The boundary enforcer doesn't necessarily hate you either.

They really want 'safe space' to mean 'a place where I can be a shitty person and not face consequences for it'.
