But, the lack of flatpak version means it still won't work on Steam Deck, right? Even if they update the flatpak version, does this screen-sharing fix work in Game Mode?

you can get the binary from discord's website, that also works on the steam deck (not the .deb)

Does it really work on the Deck in Game Mode? I had heard reports that the normal downloaded and installed version just did not work in Game Mode for some reason, and you had to use the flatpak version. Is that not the case?

beats me, you should be able to add the binary as a non-steam game, but i don't own a steam deck so i cannot check

From what I heard, the problem is that it just does not run in Game Mode for some reason. Works fine in Desktop Mode, but something about Game Mode makes the non-flatpak version fail to run.

No real thoughts currently, it's brand new tech that hasn't got any demo yet.

I have no doubt Vulkan will get extensions for it, and then hooked up with Proton.

I don't anticipate any issues really.

Just another in the list of optimizations AAA developers will force on you like DLSS.
