Yes and yes. Once I got onto BlueSky, I ditched all my Thread plans. I never use my Facebook and my IG's on life support. I'll be deleting those soon.

And if you hear of a custom OS I can load onto my Oculus, let me know!

I recently joined Mastodon, but I just can't stand the chronological timeline! I understand that's the main appeal of it, but is there any way to have an algorithmic timeline similar to what is found on BlueSky?

All that algorithms do, is make you show to others. A good profile and content will do that. I use Mastodon first, and Bluesky second. Bluesky folks don't share. You can post a free giveaway, they will not share your post. Since there's no Algorithm on Mastodon, I'll get 400 shares on same post

True, but Bluesky handles likes more importantly than Mastodon. Which I think is a good way. Mastodon should give likes more power for discovering posts even across instances. Sometimes I like a post and would love to „push“ it, but I don’t want to spam my account with boosts of other posts.

That's probably why people don't post? They don't want to spam us with all those words. They post picture text without descriptions, rarely share content, and rely on Algorithms to boost their accounts? It's social media, AI bots already have accounts. Mastodon has more engagement for that reason

Yes I also feel like Mastodon is harder to start in the beginning because it’s harder to find people you like, but as soon as you built your bubble I think interaction there is much better and higher than on other social media platforms. Especially when keeping in mind the user bases in comparison.

People were the same on Twitter. I had huge accounts & talked to only a few dozen. Followers but not Social. All done wrong. They never read rules, get suspended for obvious wrongdoings & *don't get Mastodon* because it requires them to learn, unlike Twitter / X /Bluesky where Bots have accts
