The fact that Trump sees such a proposal as within the realm of acceptable discussion is itself a reflection on our deeply broken and corrupt political discourse, especially as it relates to the Palestinians, Matthew Duss writes.

When will journalists call Trump’s idea for what it is, ETHNIC CLEANSING! The New York Times, Washington Post and L.A. Times have been co-opted by Trump. They not only refuse to speak truth to power but are now part of Trump’s propaganda machine, whitewashing the news and gaslighting the public.
this is a silly article offering no insights whatsoever. typical for the derangement of this rotten, opinionated US public discourse gauged in sick terminology derailing every reasonable discussion. in that sense you are no different from naked king donald, your president-convict and felon-in-chief.
Trump sees America's waning status as sole hegemon and superpower, sees the return of Great Power multipolarity, and therefore rejects the rules-based international order (Westphalia) as a constraint. He seeks to buy and take whatever territory and resources he can to defend American pre-eminence.
Institutions, principles, and moral high-grounding no longer restrain the US, and therefore cannot restrain Russia and China. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of international law, unless one of the three Great Powers chooses to pick a fight with another over the matter.
Spoiler alert: neither Russia nor China care about Gaza. They make statements only to draw attention to the collapsing rules-based order, which never suited them.

Can anyone name something bad that Hitler did in 1933, where Trump is not currently attempting something similar?
