Breakdown is good, but pretty clear from the design Waddle was either the 2nd or 3rd option. Slot sets a pick, that probably could’ve been called OPI, to get the 1st option open.
While I agree with this sentiment, I’m also under the impression that Waddle has dropped a few catchable passes this season and it’s in Tua’s head, because in 2022 & 2023, he’s 100% waiting till Waddle clears to make the throw.
Not that you will ever hear this from the QB, but I’m just saying.
I’m never going to mock a player for getting paid. The GMs get the flack for contracts. The fact the he could have walked away for good (and got paid) AND wanted to come back and play proves that he in it because of love of the game.
I am not worried about another guys pockets but I just want the guy I am paying top tier WR dollars to just be more involved somehow. He isn't all of a sudden bad they are just playing him differently and I want to see the counter for him.
I think the trust has to be rebuilt between receiver and QB for Waddle to be more involved. Now if Tyreek gets hurt this changes but we don’t want that.
I don’t doubt his commitment. He deserved every penny he got. I think the offense is just starting to get a rhythm, and it seems he’s now a third or fourth option. He’s a playmaker who needs to get the ball in order to contribute.
