whether you agree with it or not, that shapes the view you have of the world. what “everyone is talking about”, what kind of accounts get popular — these are all downstream of algo manipulation.

cultivating rage, antagonism, despair — these are all influenced by platform mechanics too. outrage baiting has gotten way worse over there with the incentive to stir the pot for engagement so you can get paid out.

there’s a war on for your mind, and social networks are the battlefield. but with a field tilted so heavily in elon’s favor, the only winning move is not to play. you don’t attack a fortified castle by charging up a slope. you build up your forces outside the walls, lay siege, and wait it out.
