Highland House in Highland, Michigan was one of those staples of my childhood; a restaurant my family went to or ordered from, frequently.
It still exists, but they tore down their old building several years back. I'm kicking myself for not getting pictures before then.

Have you ever been to the 'Tallyrand' restaurant in Burbank? Its a bit like that inside if i remember, and its still open, unless its closed recently. Lancers too, though its a bit more diner-y.

For me one of the great use cases for VRChat was when @coopertom.bsky.social went to a world that had recreated a mid-1960s office building with office equipment, and when he built that circa 1970 house with vintage panelling and linoleum. Something you’d want to be immersed in (good OR bad 😄)

I didn't think I'd ever see Highland House randomly on bsky, whoa! I grew up near Highland, and ate here often as a kid. Amazing breadsticks, super soft and buttery (and they always came fresh and hot). The pizza was incredible, too. Very warm memories.

That WOULD be pretty handy, actually! Though as someone who did photography for tourism the logistics of getting into a restaurant before it opens would be a real headache lol (photographing a BUSY restaurant was hard enough, oy...)
