I spend a lot of time thinking about dams—particularly how harnessing rivers for “green” energy can harm local communities, undermine ecosystems, and contribute to climate change.

So new dams can either be build in places where no one need them (let say Antarctica or Eastern Siberia) or in places that where too poor or not populated enough to get them in the 1900 to 1950 era.
