Learning how to make my homemade mac and cheese was actually what got me to start learning how to seriously cook for myself and learn as many recipes as I can, and yet, it's still the dish I'm the most proud of.

It's weird to be overly grateful to a bowl of mac and cheese, but here we are!

It's like a Cornish pasty but better. Miners working the tin & copper mines in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (U.P. residents = Yoopers) needed an all-in-one meal to eat onsite and Cornish immigrants adapted the pasty to local ingredients. They're delicious!

Unfortunately for my sedentary lifestyle, they were originally intended to provide carbs, starch, and fat for a long day of manual labor so it's definitely a Sometimes Food. 🤣

Yes - cooking a steak went from get whatever cut of meat at the supermarket and throw it on a gas grill and hope for the best to suis vide ribeye for 4 hours at just under medium rare and then heat up a solo stove with cherry wood to approximately 1000 degrees and sear on both sides for 30 seconds

ps: the solo stove 1000 degree thing works if you want to make Trader Joe's Kalbi and have it taste like you got it from a good Korean restaurant
