I want souls game to treat difficulty like FIFA/EA FC does where you play and it suggests a difficulty based on how you play and when you do well later on it suggests a higher difficulty accordingly.

Dynamic difficulty prompts diminish accomplishments and adds an extra sting to failure. Changing the difficulty on the fly is good for players to have access to but I don't want it to be so in my face about it.
Many From games would lose their impact with variable difficulty; the Souls trilogy & Elden Ring's central thesis is being some random person up against legends, if not Gods. The art is about persevering through force of will & spirit. Being able to turn down the difficulty is antithetical to that.
Souls + Elden Ring have difficulty sliders but not in a traditional menu option.
You can always grind more levels to make fights easier or, more immediately, you can summon help to fights.
In a lot of them, such as Elden Ring, you can at least over-level yourself, which is effectively a built-in easy mode for persistent players. Requires a grind, but it’s better than a brick wall.
This is a bit of a hot take, I think. I have only played Sekiro and whilst the game feels painstakingly hard at first, it never feels unfair. The combat feels so polished that once you get it down and finally beat those bosses it's the best feeling in the world. If you add easier difficulty...
I low-key think people are too addicted to fomo sometimes it just ain't for you to do. Not saying that's not a cool concept I just don't think firm soft will ever do that. Could be wrong though
The thing to remember about Souls games is that they want you to win. Treat them like the JRPGs that they secretly are and just grind for levels when you get stuck and come back later.
I say that because they aren't gonna put an easy mode in them. Just keep grinding. You get there!
Absolutely not, I get so angry when so called hard games do this, Yeah, I lost 27 times already, no, I don’t want you lowering the difficulty thank you very much, how else am I supposed to get good if the game is secretly babying me? Dark souls has no mercy, dark souls is the best because of that
Then you're sure as shit tougher than I am.
I gave that recent Armored Core game a good... half dozen tries, before I determined I didn't want to bounce my head off the first level anymore and returned it.
Am I a quitter? Absolutely.
A lot of games with the souls framework don't even have difficulty options, lol. You just are smashed and demolished until you learn what to do and not.
I mean i wouldn't mind it personally. I suck at souls game and everytime i start one, i give up because of the steep learning curve in the first few hours of the game.
