Over the next decade, advances in artificial intelligence will mean that humans will no longer be needed “for most things” in the world, says Bill Gates.

They can't even stop it from "hallucinating" (throwing errors, it's not conscious please let's not talk about it like it is). Until they've at the very least stopped it doing that, it really isn't good for anything. You can't just have a make-up shit machine doing a real job.
China spend its money on many things . Like light speed rail. The technocrats don’t in the USA . They invest in themselves. Not your future or the worlds . They think they can do anything with Ai ! Heartless soles with big dreams . The USA is in deep decline. The world now see it.
The wealthy tend to forget how math works unless it's about money. So they tend to overlook that there are magnitudes more poor people than rich people. In a battle between rich and poor, rich people are going to lose then possibly be eaten. Or if we're feeling cute we might get the guillotine out.
This technology is going to lift up the poor in many ways I reckon. Too poor to afford a tutor? No problem. Got a business idea you want help with? No problem. Can't afford therapy but still want help? No problem. Got a shitty landlord and need advice? No problem.
Imagine a system that ingests every document, meeting note, personal/business relationship, and more from your local govt, which AI agents can act on to detect things like fraud, abuse, conflicts of interest, etc.
It will probably just get better at taking dictation. You can't replace a doctor with AI, it can't even replace me. I put all my symptoms from a knee injury into AI and it wouldn't stop telling me it was patelofemoral syndrome (a stress injury), I had fallen on my knee and my patella was broken 🙄

How about high speed rail lines that move us across the country?
The possibilities are endless.
It's going to extend into holding governments more accountable too, which I reckon will also benefit the poor.
