This was a popular idea 20 years ago. It didn’t stand up to reality then & makes even less sense now.

The US & China can talk directly to each other - they don’t need us.
And we should represent our own interests, not focus on building a G2 world.
Hopefully this naïveté can stay buried.

There's a permanent elite class in Canberra, all been to the same unis etc, and are deeply infiltrated, both willingly and by straight up espionage, to bend our alliance towards the USA. They think they're the smartest people in the room but we are badly served.

Currently we have a bunch of year 10 student politicians in charge. It's all about the game for them. So little about actual governing.

IF Labor ARE doing the job, they certainly aren't telling anyone about it. Which is another problem.

Of all of the Albanese Ministry, I held Penny Wong in high esteem. I genuinely thought she would be a world leader in foreign policy. So sadly disappointed 😢
