All salmon leases have a 'biomass limit' that is set to supposedly a safe limit.

If there is uncertainty as to what is safe, it should be scientists that decide, rather than uninformed partisan who have read fantasy novels.

It’s great here in Tassie, less than 12% of old growth forests left, a Salmon industry- anyone who pays to eat those deformed dyed blind and deaf slabs of toxicity deserves to get sick- completely trashing the harbour,the coastline environment… but the best bit we pay for the honour of being trashed

Have just written to ACCC on provenance of supermarket home brand ‘ethically sourced’ salmon. Apparently many before me including EDO. So why is supposedly independent ACCC not acting?

I haven't bought or eaten any salmon for the past 18 months because it's never completely certain where it has come from, and I refuse to even accidentally consume farmed salmon from Tasmania. It would be good if provenance could be trusted.

Only buy from place that has New Zealand Ora King salmon which has reputable sustainability record. So yeah, I don’t touch Tasmanian, even though there may be some sustainable practices happening there which I’m sure restaurants are aware of. Can get Ora King at some markets!
