Eddie toppled from his Boy-Next-Door throne, lost his TV show and his career was in tatters. People REALLY HATED ELIZABETH tho. Debbie was painted as the wronged victim and Elizabeth as the scheming seductress. Elizabeth’s reputation was ruined (or perhaps her bad rep solidified). 🥴

Ultimately, Eddie and Liz broke up, Eddie went further down the tubes, Liz went on to greater fame and fortune, Debbie was (probably gladly) out of her marriage to a grade-A rat, and Debbie and Liz became friends again later in life because why should some awful man ruin a good thing? /fin

Becky Fonda and Margie Kidder. Becky, married to Tom McGuane for decades. Tom makes 92 in the Shade, knocks up Margie. Becky's in love with Peter Fonda. Decades later, Peter left Becky (TERRIBLE) Margie is Margie, they have kids in common, great friends. Spent many an evening w/them telling tales.
