First mistake is believing that MAGA counts folks outside the cult, they don't. Harry on @cnn.com showed polling that Republicans have flipped on Ukraine support, and support Trump's direction.

The real question is how big is the cult, and how big is the opposition.

Well, the percent who think we are giving enough aide or should give more dropped from 74% to 45% and the percent saying we are giving too much increased from 7% to 30%. How would you interpret this. To me, this indicates MAGA and GOP support for Ukraine has declined.

That reporter also discounts the fact that the reason support for Ukraine is sagging among GOP is that *Trump is trying to make it sag*. It's top-down with the MAGA cult following Trump, not bottom-up with Trump following the MAGA cult.

If Trump had the same stance on Ukraine as, say, Tom Cotton, GOP support for Ukraine would be way higher right now because a large % of the GOP base are in a literal cult and take their cues on everything from Trump
