Oh God, that's the thing isn't it? He really nailed it.
It shows stupidity as a choice - a complete incuriousness about anything beyond the person's immediate orbit. In time it becomes an intellectual disability as the brain atrophies, but it didn't start that way.

So many similarities to now. It’s not about rationale or reasoning. It’s lazy thinking & group think. It feels safe to go along with the majority.
