My friends, my fellow activists, and fellow San Franciscans called upon the @sfplanning.bsky.social commission to support the work of the Planning Department staffers and make the plan to strengthen our housing laws even beefier than it currently is.

The meeting went for 7.5hrs, and the commission heard an earful from everyone…but they also heard powerful stories from a bunch of folks, including my friends @wafoli.bsky.social, @anniefryman.bsky.social, @laurafoote.bsky.social and even new volunteers I’ve helped recruit like Hemangini 💪🏽💙💪🏽

My friends at @d9neighbors.bsky.social did such a good job of recruiting people for public comment that a major theme of the night was how many Bernal YIMBYs support making apartments legal in Bernal Heights:

There will be more hearings to come, and I'm looking forward to them.

I've been volunteering with @sfyimby.bsky.social for over 8 years now, and I've been working towards getting San Francisco to recognize the degree to which we're in a massive shortage and we need to dig ourselves out of it

I'm confident their stories were taken to heart by @sf-planning.bsky.social
