I learned recently that some people are using "situationship" to mean "friends with benefits" and NO STOP BAD SLANG. A "situationship" to me is that you're "involved" but haven't yet established that they're dating. That's NOT what FWBs are! Ooof.

like, an ambiguity is the defining aspect of the term situationship, as i understand - so any intimate connection where both/all know + agree how it works would not be one?
is this ppl not approaching their FWB relationships w/intentionality so they reach for an ambiguity-coded word for them? 🤔
I don’t know why, but “and single mast situationship is when one person thinks it’s a situationship and the other thinks it’s friends with benefits” popped into my head.
As someone who is probably aromantic or at the very least, not interested in romance right now, the idea that any and all sexual relationships are "situations" that either lead to romance or end is WEIRD and NOT OKAY. It's comp-het all the way down.

OR it's that neither party will do the necessary communicating about what's going on.
Whereas FWB is an arrangement agreed upon.

I could also be an idiot.
