I'm so stressed knowing that once a disabled person receiving any state (pa, at least) or federal supports loses them if they make too much money and "too much money" is usually not much money.

The subminimum wage is allowed via a certificate issued by the DOL that exempts businesses from paying a minimum wage if their employees fall into specific disability classes. It was invented as a means of providing PWDs employment while also keeping benefits. In reality, it's used for cheap labor.

The DOL has concluded that such wages are no longer necessity thanks to the advancements in employment opportunities for PWDs in the US, and is proposing eliminating the exemption. THIS IS VERY GOOD.
