tbh it's not the biggest deal but I think the more animation flourishes and stuff they add to these things in souls games the less satisfying they are to use, like it's very gratifying to just fucking hack at guys in demon's and dark souls

I also like how video gamey it feels to just like cycle between one or two animations instead of just having like a proper like set of combo animations tbh
I think sorceries are mostly good about this but incantations are pretty bad about it tbh, honestly despite how few/boring most of them are I think sorceries came out pretty well in shadow of the erdtree
My mind is mostly on the full moon sorceries in the base game because I was pumped to use them but then the whole time I was just thinking "yeah pebble and carian slicer just kinda outperform everything", but the gravity stuff in the dlc did feel good
the full moon sorceries are kinda weird because they probably don't do enough damage but the magic defense shred on them is like, pretty notable and they do let you dodge some attacks (I don't remember if they're actual invul but they do weird things to your hurtbox)
