I enjoyed reading this! I’ve noticed the same thing on twitter. I have an interest in Ancient Greece but I came about it through its literature, particularly its use of satire. Therefore, I came across a lot of writing that was satirizing the wider culture and its injustices.

So the funny and ironic thing to me is that people emulate the things that were being made fun of, but since satire is easy to miss if you don’t have full context, it can go right over heads. I see this in religious writings and interpretations as well.
