That’s not how I read this. The linked page says tariffs would be an average of 20% globally. Can you double check your conclusion (maybe with an example)?

However the article assumes, if I understand correctly, that only 25% (may be up to 400%) of the price increase due to tariffs are passed on to US customers (seems unrealistic tbh, I’d assume 100% plus overhead).
Overall it’s a slightly better calculation than Trump did (https://bsky.app/profile/dansinker.com/post/3llunnyfeoj2v) but still working with very flawed underlying reasoning and notwithstanding that, hitting the 99% much much harder than the 1%.
