UIt decreases the probability of binding, certainly. Had some very poorly spooled filament from Bambu on several occasions which ruined prints. Never had binding with Prusament.

I'm a whole lot less fussy about a smaller print or inexpensive filament, but PETG-CF probably doesn't qualify as inexpensive.

In my experience no; the problem comes from the fact that if you don't keep ahold of the tail it's much easier for it to get itself tangled.

I've had issues but not often. Just last week a spool that I wound half arsed bound up half way through a print.
