I cannot stand Notre Dame football & many ppl ask me why, since I'm catholic. It represents all the financial excesses that the church is often accused of. I mean their helmets are literally repainted every game with 24k gold leaf. It makes my stomach turn when I think about where that $ could go.

Honestly i don’t think they do it anymore
ND football brings more to the church than it takes
It’s just the audacity of the excess… ugh. Makes me embarrassed.

When I lived in Indiana, my office bldg overlooked Notre Dame and I became a huge fan. I remember one atty had dictated a letter to Lou Holz sp? And I went into his office and said "The" Lou Holtz?! You would have thought I was typing to Santa😂
I never got the opportunity to visit the campus for back then I was a workaholic working sometimes 7 days a week....but I was young, focused, ambitious and loved it.
It was the best job I ever had.
If notre dame wore normal helmets and fed $200k worth of food to kids and families in south bend Indiana every week I would become the biggest goddamn ND fan ever.
