Nice, hell yeah my first unsupervised was also a Metallica show in 1998 in Cincy. Parents actually gifted me tickets. Followed that show up with seeing them 8 other times. I'm going to see them here in Tampa in July for my 10th time then I'm retiring haha.
Must have been a great show. I saw Metallica a few times at a club in West Hartford, CT in the mid 1980s before they got to coliseum and then stadium size in popularity.
They weren't in my area at the time or at least they were unknown. It was a Saturday morning tradition to be standing in line to get tickets at the local record store. It was fun to see many familiar faces then when you went to the show of people you stood in line with.
I saw this show in Daytona Beach. One of my most ingrained memories is Geoff Tate dodging shoes thrown by overzealous Metallica fans. Metallica was at their peak and the show was great. But, I like both bands, so it was nice to see Queensryche on their building empires tour a couple years later.
