Poutine is the only dish that looks like a mess but tastes like a masterpiece—proof that sometimes, the best things in life are smothered in gravy

I loves me some poutine but you're missing out on a Garbage plate from any decent diner or Cajun étouffée or even gumbo. All meeses covered in gravy.
Wow. Now I'm hungry.

Always wanted to visit the American continent sometime, Canada seems like a good place to visit (especially now that the USA is gone)

TBF one of the great culinary changes in my lifetime (as a Brit) is being able to get curry sauce on your fish & chips.
Again, turns it from an attractive-looking dish to a total shambles, but tastes AMAZING.
Just shows we can all learn from other cultures. 🙂

That sounds absolutely delicious—I need to try this ASAP. Messy, chaotic food always seems to taste the best..Definitely adding curry sauce on fish & chips to my must-try list!

And just like that… Poutine loses its exclusivity.

Fun fact. Kaiserschmarrn literally means Emperor nonsense, or Kaiser mess...

So you’re telling me even the Emperor’s nonsense has a better claim to messy food royalty than poutine? A humbling moment for Canada. 😂👑🇨🇦

I fear it does!
Worth trying if you happen to be in Bavaria some time!
In return I commit to try poutine if I ever visit Canada, which I would love to do.

Sounds like a fair trade! Bavaria is now on the foodie travel list, and I’ll be holding you to that poutine promise when you visit Canada. 🇨🇦

Dysart's truck stop on I-95 just South of Bangor has some pretty good Poutine. They get a lot of Canadian truckers.
