I’d go a step further and say you don’t want your ‘humanities’ people to be like this at all, because those who put vibes above policy are also putting vibes above research, with simultaneously bad and boring outcomes.
...The whole experience was in line with a point @mattbruenig.bsky.social makes often: you don't want your intelligentsia to all be humanities people and counter-culture avant-garde. Some people need to be wonky policy nerds and bureaucratically minded. Otherwise you're only ever a protest movement.
