Two generations were raised in a system where a 4 year degree was the only path to make enough money to feed yourself and live somewhat comfortable. So of course people will have a view about physical labor that’s archaic and unimaginative.

There is. It’s a political thorn in my side, but I get it. It’s an issue amongst the working class too. I remember how ambivalent or against unions a lot of GenXers and Millennials were in the 2000s. Then there is the aftermath of deindustrialization these two generations grew up in.
