Paredes is a lock at 3B for now, 2B will be a platoon with Dubon set at one part of it, Brendan Rodgers and Luis Guillorme are the favorites for the other part of the platoon. Rodgers and Guillorme both are above average gloves and Dubon is a Gold Glover, so we will have excellent defense at 2B

Alan, I had you (and a few others) in mind when I made this optimistic take. But when we begin to tire of the three batter hole at the bottom of the order (CF, RF, 2B), and the Astros lose another game 2-1…

If we bring up Cam in June, where’s he going to play? Paredes needs work at 2B now.

Paredes played 2B 56 times in the minors, 28 times at AAA, so he won't need much work. During the season watch when he starts playing 2B, I would take that as an indicator that they are getting ready for Cam.

CF, 2B and RF we have 2 Gold Glovers and one above average defenders, so not a total loss

Yep. When Paredes plays 2B, we can get excited.

Infield D will rock but it won’t stop a lead off walk followed by a two-run shot in the top of the first inning. There is a reason why Astros lost a boatload of close games when Tucker was out. Three weak hitters in the order is too many.

Rodgers can hit league average, the hope is Chas gets close to league average, we know Myers won't hit average but he is a Gold Glover. Astros fans are used to having a scary lineup top to bottom, now we are like everyone else with a weak bottom three hitters

Agreed. If Rodgers hits league average and Chaz hits 20+ homers with at least a 700 OPS and the team has a good year health wise and we break even on close games, we could win 90+ games. But if things going haywire, we might be deadline sellers. It’s going to be a fun year.
