You said 6800 per employee. Assuming you meant that to mean split between govt and employers, 3400 per. You just cost my small business with 150 employees a half million dollars. You closed us down.

Are your employees not covered by a plan now? Do you pay, on average, significantly less than $285 per month for their coverage now? That sounds less than most employers currently pay.
Most are currently covered by Medicaid expansion, subsidized ACA plans, or insurance by a spouse. We pay the ACA penalty every year, usually around $50,000. We have a blend of contractors and employees. Contractors are ACA exempt, as are the first 30 eligible employees..
Keep in mind that we are funded by Medicaid. Our reimbursement rates are pre-set. We can't raise or lower prices due to market considerations. Our staff, though, are affected by inflation, etc. So when we raise pay, we cannot raise prices.
Our "customer base" is also at the whim of the state legislature. There is a large waiting list of people we could serve if the waiting list was cleared.
Other agencies like ours do offer health insurance coverage. I don't know their costs but I know the insurance is shit. I know it is shit because the staff who come to us say they did so because it was shit, and they wanted to be eligible for the ACA exchange. Good insurance cheaper.
Of course if we offered non-ACA coverage, even the staff who would prefer to stay on the exchange lose that option. Now they are in a situation of, shitty insurance with lower pay over yonder, or higher pay with ACA eligibility here.
