Found this amazingly blue damselfly while out looking for birds in Costa Rica. I post all of my non-bird sightings to @inaturalist.bsky.social - it's a great app that can help you ID various organisms and the data is often used by scientists to better understand ranges of plants and animals.

I saw a bright blue one there (or in Panama?) too, and I don't remember if I ever was able to figure out what it was. Have you gotten an i.d. on this one yet? (And do you know you can also post them on Odonata Central and ask for help if iNat doesn't work: https://www.odonatacentral.org)
The catch with looking at that book is I now want to go back to Costa Rica....
I also don't mean to dis Odonata Central, I've just committed to iNat and am approaching 4,000 observations. It's a really nice database for keeping track of what I saw, where.
