It's hard to fathom. It's bad on so many levels - what we won't know anymore but also the fact that the data was available to anyone. The DHS program democratized access to information, helping scholars & public health folks from less resourced institutions & orgs do research.

Those of us from USAID who helped support DHS are devastated as well. This program was core to our mission and produced so much important data that benefited the development and academic communities alike. It feels like the end of an era, and it’s hard to foresee what will come next.
