Trying to stay up to date on everything that is happening isn’t practical and quite exhausting. I know I’ve missed things here and there but what’s interesting to me is that, as I get caught up, I’m no longer surprised.

Everything is unfolding the way history, research, and even anecdotal experiences suggested it would. The fears that folks within marginalized community(ies) and allies brought to the forefront during the last major election are proving to be valid, day in and day out.
The affects are rippling globally and rapidly. The moment people realize this isn’t just about America/Americans and start focusing on the wellbeing of all humans is what I’m looking forward to/hoping for. Being from such an individualistic nation, it’s easy to think it’s all about us.
I hate to get cheesy but we’re talking about the state of humanity right now. People are suffering everywhere and while it is nothing new, it’s imperative that we are addressing the issues in the ways that we can. We’ve got to be focused on educating, organizing and taking action.
Community is powerful. Education is powerful. One individual can empower a community. This isn’t to say that it’s one person’s responsibility but, it is a call to action to ask yourself:
What am I doing for the people/cause(s) that are important to me?
