A 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 is a group of ectodermal cells that are pinched off during neural tube closure. The neural crest migrates to various locations to contribute to diverse tissues, including melanocytes, craniofacial bones, and peripheral-nerve ganglia.
