I don't predict she's suddenly going to abandon that advocacy now that she's been elected to represent Hamilton Centre. I'm expecting her to continue to push for better policy, more access, and a path toward life saving evidence based decision making at Queen's Park.

That's a huge task. Hamilton is looking bluer than ever after last night's vote and the Ford government has been handed another mandate. I'm worried for many in Ward 2 - a community of 80% renters and the poorest in Hamilton with an average household income at around $70k.

The Ford government will use this mandate to continue to punch down on the most vulnerable in our communities, to let the rental market rage out of control, and to erode our health care system on every front. These are dark times for many who can't bear another 4 years of this.

We're going to have to find a way forward, together, in the wake of a third majority Ford government and do what we can to resist the harm coming our way. It's not going to be easy. Hamilton has long been known for its solidarity. We're going to need that now more than ever.

I think there is a sentiment shift away from a certain bloc of people that includes you in this riding and you would be foolish not to think so. We'll find out come the federal election.

I’m not running in the Federal election, but I understand you think everyone is operating as a group. I chose to run at the municipal level for many reasons but one of them was because I don’t see myself being an active part of any of the major political parties. I hope that helps.
