My great-grandmother’s sister was the first woman to become an attorney in Alabama, early 1900’s. I remember hearing courtroom dress was an issue for her and I believe she ended up wearing her academic regalia in court. Happy to get more information for you if interested.

In the mid-80’s a research paper was done on her and I have a copy. Here is what I found. I will respond to your questionnaire as well. I am hoping to find the cartoon but do not recall having seen it.
