This notebook, written in Munster towards the middle of the 19ᵗʰ century by an unknown scribe, consists of 65 pages of healing charms & prayers written entirely in ogam, plus a 66ᵗʰ page in cryptic code. The cover page gives the date 1849.

Our article sheds light on the roles of several people associated with the manuscript: the eponymous, elusive ‘J.I. Minchin’ whose signature appears on the title page, Bishop Charles Graves of Limerick (President of @ria.ie), and the antiquarian John F. Campbell, to whom Graves gave the notebook.
