"Humans won't be needed" would be fine if the same people supported UBI or some other system to ensure a minimum comfortable standard of living for everyone, but that's never part of the same conversation and, besides, it's plainly obvious they would *hate* such a thing.

It’s patently false, but notice that “humans won’t be needed” to these people is identified as the desired future rather than the deeply dystopian vision that it actually is.
