I feel incredibly lucky to have had Willie Jennings for Introduction to Theology, and I’m looking forward to taking his Systematic Theology class in the spring. Now if only I could be in two places at once so I could take Barth with him, too
I’m astonished how anyone gets an MDiv and a collar WITHOUT engaging with Black theology in a sustained and substantive manner. Completely baffles the mind.
It’s not only anti-Black, it’s an academic disservice; pure unadulterated laziness on the part of institutions
I have a new reading list for 2025 it seems. Even as a laywoman I think it’s vital to engage with black theology, especially as someone like myself who needs to both expand my theological knowledge and to become a better ally
